The Williams Family Says Goodbye to Formula 1 Stable After 43 Years
Claire Williams will experience her last race this weekend in Monza as team principal of Formula 1 racing stable Williams.
She then resigns from her position. Her resignation is due to the takeover of the British team by the American investment company Dorilton Capital.
The departure of Claire Williams also marks the departure of the Williams family from Formula 1. Her father Frank Williams founded the racing stable of the same name in 1977.
"After 43 years and 739 Grands Prix, the point has come for our family to leave the sport. It is with a heavy heart that I let go of the team," Williams said in a statement.
