National Coach Cúper Leaves Egypt after a Disappointing World Cup

National Coach Cúper Leaves Egypt after a Disappointing World Cup. Héctor Cúper is no longer the national coach of Egypt. The expiring contract of the 62-year-old Argentinian is not extended due to the disappointing performance of the African country at the World Cup.

Under the leadership of Cúper, Egypt did not have a single point in group A. The ‘Pharaohs’ lost successively from Uruguay (0-1), Russia (1-3) and Saudi Arabia (1-2) and were eliminated as a chance, posted by INC News.

Egypt qualified for the World Cup for the primary time since 1990 but is still waiting for its first victory ever at the global final tournament. Mohamed Salah, who had to pass the first group match, also could not help his country to a historic win in Russia. The Liverpool striker signed for the two Egyptian hits.

Cúper was the national coach of Egypt since early 2015. Earlier in his career was ‘El Cabezón’ coach of Valencia and Internazionale, among others.
