Championship Rings Do Not Help Lakers Win Over Clippers in NBA

Defending champion Los Angeles Lakers has started the new season in the American professional basketball NBA with a defeat against fellow city rivals Los Angeles Clippers: 109-116.

The Lakers players had their champion rings pushed over their fingers before the game in the empty Staples Center, but the jewel did not bring out the best game.

The champion was behind the entire game against the Clippers, with Paul George, the top scorer with 33 points. Kawhi Leonard scored 26 points. At the Lakers, star LeBron James was the top scorer with 22 points. Anthony Davis scored 18 points.

The Clippers were already 39-19 ahead after the first quarter and forced the Lakers to catch up. The champion narrowed the gap to 6 points (90-96) at the start of the fourth quarter, but the Clippers answered with a 13-4 run, widening the gap to 15 points again.

Brooklyn Nets recorded a convincing victory over Golden State Warriors in its opening game of the NBA: 125-99. The Nets first benefited from star pair Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Durant, who completely missed his first season with the Nets due to an Achilles tendon injury, scored 22 points.

Irving, who was also sidelined for a long time last season due to a shoulder injury, came to a score of 26 points.

Stephen Curry was back with the Warriors. The top scorer played slowly last season due to a broken hand and was not yet the same against the Nets. He scored 20 points. He missed eight of the ten distance throws for 3 issues.
