The European Stock Markets Did Not Show Any Major Movements on Thursday

The European stock markets did not show any significant movements on Thursday. Investors took it easy after the recent strong boom.

 

Wall Street remained closed for Thanksgiving Day celebrations in the United States. On Friday, Black Friday, the US financial markets are open for only half a day.

The AEX index on Beursplein 5 closed 0.2 percent higher at 607.39 points. The MidKap fell slightly to 904.75 points. Stock markets in Paris and Frankfurt remained flat. The London FTSE index fell 0.6 percent.

Unilever fell 0.1 percent. The food group takes over the American SmartyPants Vitamins. The Los Angeles-based company sells vitamins, minerals and nutritional supplements.

Unilever is also disappearing from the Euro Stoxx 50 Index due to the paper move to Great Britain.

The euro was virtually unchanged at USD 1,1907. Oil prices fell somewhat. A barrel of American oil became more than 2 percent cheaper at $ 44.89. Brent oil cost nearly 2.5 percent less at $ 47.63 a barrel.
