Russian Army: We Killed Five Saboteurs from Ukraine, But Ukraine Denies

The Russian army reported Monday that it had killed five “saboteurs” from Ukraine on Russian soil.

Also, according to the army, two Ukrainian army vehicles tried to cross the border. Ukraine formally denied the facts on Monday.

“During the fighting, five people belonging to a group of saboteurs and spies who had violated Russia’s border were eliminated,” the Russian army said, adding that the incident took place in the Rostov region at 6 a.m. local time.

But Ukraine formally denied on Monday that it sent soldiers to Russia. “None of our soldiers has crossed the border into the Russian Federation, and none of them has been killed today,” a senior official at Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said.
