Data Centre Giant Equinix Hit By A Ransomware Attack

Equinix has been the victim of a ransomware attack. The American data centre giant reports on its website that several internal systems have been affected by a ‘security incident’ and that further investigation is currently underway.

 

“Our team took immediate action to resolve the incident and also reported the attack to the police.

Our services will remain fully functional, and the attack will not have any effect on our support to customers,” said a response from Equinix.

The company further states that the security of the data in its systems is always a top priority and that, based on the research results, it will take “all necessary steps.”
