Brazil is going to accelerate the tackling of greenhouse gas emissions in the country. By 2030, 50 percent should be reduced instead of the 43 percent mentioned earlier.   Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro says in a video message for the COP26 climate summit that his environment minister Pereira Leite has approved the new climate target. Unlike many other government leaders and heads of state, Bolsonaro did not travel to Glasgow for the climate summit. In Brazil, the threshold of 4,000 corona deaths in one day was crossed for the first time yesterday. "If Brazil doesn't get this under control, it will remain a threat to the rest of the world."   According to the Brazilian Ministry of Health's most fresh valuation, 4,195 covid deaths were added in 24 hours. With a total of 336,947 corona deaths, the country with 212 million inhabitants is the second most affected nation in the biosphere in absolute numbers, after the United States. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will not be vaccinated against Covid-19. But he stresses that the vaccines will be distributed and administered immediately when available.   Bolsonaro said on social media that it is his right to refrain from vaccination. The country has now ordered 100 million doses of the vaccine from the laboratories of AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford. Conservative Bolsonaro convincingly won the presidential election in October 2018. He has been harshly criticized this year for his approach to the coronavirus.
