More than 170 international aid organisations are jointly calling for an end to “the deadly Israeli distribution program” for aid supplies.
They are referring to the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), among others. The aid that Israel still allows has become sites of “recurring massacres that trample on international humanitarian law”.
Israel is keeping external aid organisations out and replacing them with “a deadly, military-controlled alternative”, the organisations say. “These measures are aimed at perpetuating the cycle of despair, danger and death.”
The organisations say that in less than four weeks, five hundred Palestinians who tried to get food have been killed and 4,000 injured. The signatories want other countries to intervene.
In addition to Oxfam, the signatories include War Child, Amnesty International and Doctors Without Borders, which previously made a similar plea.
