KLM Sees Some Passengers Growing By One Million

KLM Sees some Passengers growing by One Million in the first Six Months. In the first six months of the year, KLM welcomed a large number of passengers in its aircraft compared to the same period last year. Up to and including June, 16.6 million passengers boarded KLM.

 

It means an improvement in the passenger flow with one million passengers.

In June more than 2.9 million passengers boarded KLM. That amounts to an increase of 2.7 percent. The total turnover per kilometre flew 3.6 percent higher.

The occupancy rate was 90.5 percent. Aeroplanes of KLM were never as crowded according to society itself.

According to CEO Pieter Elbers of KLM, the growth figures show that hard work has paid off.

The CEO stated earlier that the airline company is being slowed down in its growth due to lock constraints at Schiphol.

As a result, there was no capacity expansion for European destinations.

At sister company Air France in June, there was a growth of 3 percent to 4.7 million travellers. The French part experienced less from strikes last month.

Trade unions suspended promotions for better working conditions until more is known about the new CEO at parent company Air France-KLM.

The earlier actions at Air France are possible to examine in the transport statistics for the first half of the year. In it, the French company transported more than 24.5 million passengers, representing an annual decline of 0.7 percent.

At Transavia, there was an increase of 7.4 percent in the months January through June to 7.3 million passengers.

Air France-KLM checked almost 48.5 million people in the first six months of the year, shows an increase of 2.8 percent.

Also, there was a slight decrease in freight activities during the measurement period, although aeroplanes were somewhat fuller in the average.
