Johnson & Johnson Suspends Supply of Corona Vaccine to Europe

Pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson will not supply a corona vaccine to the European Union for the time being.

This is done as a precaution after a few cases surfaced in the US of people who developed a rare blood clot after vaccination with the vaccine.

One woman has died, and a second woman has been admitted to critical condition.

All involved in the US were women between 18 and 48 who were vaccinated between six and thirteen days before the symptoms appeared.

“The safety and wellbeing of the people who use our products is our number one priority,” Johnson & Johnson wrote in response. That is why the company decides to “proactively” postpone deliveries to Europe.

The drug company speaks of an “extremely rare side effect,” with six known cases in more than 6.8 million doses administered. The matter has already been discussed with European regulators, and it has therefore been decided to postpone the start of the vaccination campaigns here.
