US Warns of Russian Nuclear Attack: Concerns Grow, But No Concrete Indications
The United States is increasingly concerned about a possible nuclear attack by Russia in Ukraine.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby warns that it is possible that Russia could use nuclear weapons in the war in the coming months. Still, there are no concrete indications that a nuclear attack is being prepared.
The US does not rule out the possibility that Russia could use nuclear weapons in Ukraine in the coming months. “We are monitoring it as closely as we can,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said at a White House press briefing.
During the briefing, Kirby responded to a New York Times article in which senior Russian military personnel discussed when and how nuclear weapons could be used in Ukraine.
According to the White House, there is no concrete indication that Russia is preparing to deploy nuclear weapons today, but the US does not rule out that this could happen in the coming months.
