PS5 Shortage Off the Job, Says Sony

It should become easier to repurchase a PlayStation 5 console. However, the game console has been struggling with severe shortages since its launch at the end of 2020.

“Anyone who wants a PS5 should now be able to find one much more easily from global retailers,” said Jim Ryan, head of Sony’s gaming division, during a presentation at CES.

The company has sold around 30 million of the consoles to date, which first hit the market in November 2020.

However, in the past two years, getting hold of the device was usually challenging.

Among other things, due to the semiconductor shortage and strong demand for home entertainment due to the pandemic, the production of the devices has barely been able to meet the demand so far.
