Governments worldwide have to spend even more to support the economy against the corona crisis.
That said top woman Kristalina Georgieva of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at an economic forum in Russia.
“I continue to advocate for monetary and fiscal policies to prevent the economy from collapsing at a time when we are deliberately restricting production and consumption,” said the IMF director.
She further indicated that an approach at an international level is the best way to stimulate growth. Georgieva also pointed that the IMF gave financial support to 83 countries last year.
The IMF had previously said that the recovery of the world economy is being slowed by the revival of the coronavirus and the new lockdowns in many countries against the virus outbreak.
