Apple is the Most Abused Brand for Phishing Attempts

Apple Postpones Controversial Scan Function for Child Porn

Apple was the original brand targeted by cybercriminals in the first quarter of 2020. Ten percent of all phishing attempts related to the American technology giant.

This is evident from the Brand Phishing report by security company Check Point.

In a fire phishing attack, criminals try to emulate the official website of a well-known brand.

They often use a similar domain name or URL for this (sometimes with just a letter or character difference), and the web page design is identical to the real site.

The fake site often contains a form intended to steal users’ personal or fraud-sensitive data.
